The Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro has seen an increase in the number of inpatients with Covid-19 over the four days from New Year’s Eve.
As of December 31 there were around 36 patients being treated for the virus at hospitals across the county – “around 25” at the Royal Cornwall Hospital and West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance with a further 11 in the Duchy’s community hospitals.
However, this has risen over the weekend.
Although they did not give an exact figure as it changes day by day, a spokesperson for the main hospital at Treliske, Truro, said: “We have seen an increase in the number of inpatients with a Covid positive diagnosis over the last four days.”
There were a further 1,332 cases of coronavirus recorded across Cornwall in the week to December 29, according to official figures released yesterday. Read from source….
